Reitmans is a Canadian retailing company that specializes in women's clothing. TCS’s relationship with the client was to redesign the online web and mobile experience to reflect how users shop within the brick and mortar landscape.

Heuristic &

User Research

After analysis of the Reitmans brand through heuristics and user research; I determined that users desired a more holistic experience similar to what takes place on the clothing rack. Primarily the ability to sift through content without losing the focused detail.

Scanning

On the clothing rack user’s tend to focus on what is directly in front of them while keeping their peripheral vision open for comparative analysis. This became the inspiration for how to navigate Reitmans’ product virtually.

Multi-Search

When searching for singular items the focus is much more narrowed; however when there is a multi-search it is common to flood the user with too much information. Here we devised to create a multi-row experience where comparison become much more synthesized in the user’s perspective.

Filter & Sorting

Often pagination overcomplicates itself by simply listing versus organizing through natural language.

Related Items

In both web and mobile a user is able to add ancillary accessories to a product that they are interested in. Instead of of looking at what other user bought; Reitmans took the opportunity to curate their brand .

Product Details

In order to avoid additional page scrolling I created an elastic modal control that consolidates the product details in one location.
