"All in one"

Many of Fossil's female users wear additional jewelry with a smart device and that commonly results in "wearer's fatigue" over time.

As a result the "Smart Jewelry" line began not only as an effort to curb the user's fatigue and but to enhance daily endurance.

Use Case

"I wish i could achieve more with less steps"

The lack of efficiency in other competitive products was the single most frequent pain point for wearable devices. By utilizing Google Assistant the opportunity to cut steps increases.

Scope Evaluation

summary

There is no direct competitor in the class of "Luxury Smart Jewelry" due to the high volume of fitness devices. The freedom that Google assistant offers is also confined to the smartwatch sector. At a glance most of the market is saturated with "glorified step tracking" lacking relate-able metrics for the user.

Voice to Action

"Minimal complexity"

Navigating such a small device can create frustration and fatigue. By utilizing Google Assistant you reduce the primary need for eye-hand coordination.

Recognition

"I wish it had shortcuts"

Another benefit to utilizing Google Assistant is its characteristic to recognize a scenario based off the current domain. The user's request may alter the result to reflect the desired action, such as a song change during active media.

Low-Tech Display

restricted by performance

The display used for the assignment is the smallest and cheapest display on the market. Limited to monochromatic color and zero animations; the device would have little to no freedom for brand exploration.

Limitations

It has very little resolution and had to be built pixel by pixel during the sprint. This would impose a many limitations including those of the design time for the styling departments.

Budgets Can Kill

Sometimes the lack of funding towards a project can over complicate the vision. "Find the smallest and cheapest screen" was the determining factor that resulted in the death of the Luxury Smart Jewelry line.
